Pack 80 - Annual Dues & Fund Raising Update
Hello Pack 80 Families!
I wanted to share a few important updates regarding our 2026–2027 Annual Dues, fundraising credits, and a change to how we will be handling funds earned through fundraising moving forward.
2026–2027 Annual Dues
The 2026–2027 Annual Dues have now been posted to your accounts in Troop Campfire. Any money your scout earned through our recent Flower Sales fundraiser has also been credited to your account.
Since our Popcorn Fundraiser is still ongoing through the end of November, annual dues will not be due until December. This gives everyone an opportunity to finish fundraising and apply those earnings toward their dues before making a payment.
As we get closer to December, if your family would benefit from splitting the remaining dues into multiple payments, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. I'm happy to work with families to arrange a payment plan. You can contact me directly through the Troop Campfire app or speak with me at any Pack Night.
If your scout is not planning to participate in popcorn sales, you are welcome to pay your dues early. However, please keep in mind that any additional fundraising money earned after dues have been paid will not be refunded. Instead, those funds will remain available in your scout's account as described below.
Exciting Change to Fundraising Credits!
Starting this year, we're making an important change to how fundraising earnings are handled!
Previously, fundraising money was primarily used to offset annual dues. Moving forward, if your scout earns more through fundraising than the amount of their annual dues, the extra money will remain in their account as a credit toward future Pack activities.
This means your scout's hard work fundraising can help cover not only their annual dues, but also the cost of participating in additional Pack activities throughout the year!
What Can You Use Fundraising Credits On?
Credits can be used toward any activity or event for which Pack 80 collects payment directly from families.
Some examples of activities we've offered in the past include:
- Disney on Ice
- Monster Jam
- Pack Fishing Trips – Fishing is free for scouts, but additional family members have an associated cost.
These are just examples. Credits can be applied toward other eligible Pack 80 activities and events throughout the year.
What Can't You Use Fundraising Credits On?
Fundraising credits are intended for Pack 80 activities and cannot be used for purchases or expenses outside of those activities.
Examples of items and expenses that are not eligible include:
- Uniforms and Scouting apparel
- Equipment or supplies
- District or Council events that families register and pay for independently outside of Pack 80.
In short, if Pack 80 is collecting the money for the activity or event, your scout's credits can be applied. If your family is independently purchasing something or registering for an event through the district or council, credits cannot be used.
Important: Unused Fundraising Credits
Please keep in mind that all unused fundraising credits will be converted into a donation to Pack 80 on August 31st.
This means that any remaining balance in a scout's account as of August 31st will no longer be available for that scout to use. Instead, those funds will go back to Pack 80 to help support future activities, events, and experiences for all of our scouts.
This policy applies to all scouts, including those who leave Pack 80 or age out of the Cub Scout program.
Thank You for Supporting Pack 80!
Fundraising is a great way to help families reduce their out-of-pocket costs while supporting the activities and experiences we provide for our scouts. We hope this change gives everyone even more incentive to participate, knowing that their hard work can help pay for additional fun experiences throughout the Scouting year.
If you have any questions about your account balance, annual dues, fundraising credits, or payment arrangements, please feel free to reach out to me through Troop Campfire or at a Pack Night.
Thank you all for your continued support of Pack 80!
