โน๏ธOur Troop
Welcome to Troop 1229, proudly serving youth and families in Independence, Missouri since 1925.
Backed by a century of Scouting tradition, our program provides a launchpad where young people develop practical life skills, self-reliance, and resilient character grounded in the Scout Oath and Law.
What We Stand For
Youth-Led Leadership: Scouts learn to lead by doing. From organizing campouts and expeditions to executing local service projects, our youth step up, make decisions, and guide one another.
Outdoor Skills & Adventure: We embrace the challenge of the outdoorsโfrom trail hiking and survival camping to angling, paddling, and seasonal expeditions across Missouri and beyond.
Commitment to Community: Independence is our home. We actively give back through conservation projects, Eagle Scout service initiatives, and support for local organizations.
Mentorship & Character: Our dedicated, trained adult leaders and merit badge counselors foster a safe, supportive space where every Scout is empowered to grow at their own pace along the trail to Eagle Scout.
