Glacier Backpacking HA-Group2

For older, experienced scouts who are eligible to attend a High Adventure trip.For HIgh Adventure we are planning a hiking trip to Glacier National Park in Montana. We'll travel on the Amtrak from Union Station in St Paul which will drop us off at the doorstep to the park in East Glacier a brief 21 hours later. The trip will be during the standard Troop 82 High Adventure week somewhere between the 8th and 16th of August. Fri, Aug 7 at 11:13pm depart from Union DepotSat, Aug 8 @ 7:48pm arrive East Glacier; stay @ Brownie's Hostel in East Glacier (about 2 blocks from EGP station)GROUP 2Sun, Aug 9 - Shuttle to Lubec Trailhead and trek 8 miles to Ole Lake campsite (cross Continental Divide at Firebrand Pass ele. 6950')Mon, Aug 10 - Trek 11.8 miles OLL to PRR (Park Creek campsite)Tue, Aug 11 - Trek 7.5 miles PRR to UPP (Upper Park Creek campsite)Wed, Aug 12 - Trek 6.1 miles UPP to COB (Cobalt Lake campsite*) (cross Continental Divide again at Chief Lodgepole Pass at 7680' elevation)Thu, Aug 13 - Trek 5.6 miles COB to Two Medicine Parking Lot, get picked up by shuttle and back to East GlacierAll Groups meet up again in East Glacier to stay at Brownie's Hostel again.Fri, Aug 14 - depart 9:36am from EGP on Amtrak back to St PaulSat, Aug 15 at 8:33am return to Union Depot

For experienced and beginner alike, we're going to the best climbing location in the midwest: Devil's Lake State Park. With world-class guides and on-the-rock top rope climbing, experienced climbers will love the views and challenges, while beginners have the chance to earn the Climbing merit badge. We'll stay in tents a short hike away at Devil's Lake State Park group site 4.
